Commitment and sacrifice

We are called to serve differently in this world as human beings; to cause the beauty of the world’s appearance. Once we are called we respond yes but just to follow and sometimes to move according to the wind’s blow not right ways.

There are only two ways in which we are called ; either to sacrifice – whereby we sacrifice part of what we have for others to stay in harmony. Just like chicken whose sacrifice is a contribution of an egg – for human healthy growth, or commitment which involves total change.

As for religion, especially as little sisters of St.Joseph , we do not survive by sacrifice or by commitment and total living is our obligation. Then we are called not to contribute to the service but to be fully committed to it. We should then not live as the chicken in the life we are called to but like the pigs, fully understanding our life.

Maybe when we forget all about it and we meet characters like the chicken on our way to service we need to again think for a moment like the pig so that we do not pretend to appear as what we are not.

Remember our obligation will ever remain; if it is a sacrifice , it will never become a commitment and vice versa even if we hide our heads like the ostrich in the sand.
